DENISA PROCHAZKA  (Sculpture)

www.denisa-sculpture.com

Denisa  Prochazka is an award-winning Canadian artist living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She is a classically trained figurative sculptor with a passion for portrait sculpture and figurative clay reliefs. Denisa creates her original sculptures in clay and casts her final work in a variety of materials such as bronze, aluminum, aqua-resin, hydro-stone or concrete. Many of her sculptures depict female subjects  and feminine forms created to empower and inspire the feminine balance in this world. Denisa's goal as a sculptor is to bring her art forward to public spaces so that passersby can find peace, beauty, and a healing  connection for a moment in time in their life's journey. She strongly believes in creating meaningful and healing artwork that has the power to transform people's lives. Some of her work was created as a donation to a Women's Shelter, as well as auction charity projects to support children in Orphanages.

Gallery Elder

GALLERY ELDER

www.galleryelder.com

Gallery Elder is a gallery and boutique space in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada specializing in 17th - 19th century antique furniture, homewares and objects ranging from Europe and Asia, to North America - though the goal is to exist as a gallery space and boutique with aims of contemporizing the antique.

We believe that patina, and signs of use and wear on the antique items we present add to the character of the pieces themselves - and in turn, we hope that these items can provide a beautiful textural element to your space, unachievable with items born today.

Herman Ruhland

HERMAN RUHLAND

“To me art is about freedom, free from the restrains of traditional use of materials, free of academic dictations how to do art. Expressing myself from the heart guided by a desire to understand myself, let the subconscious do some work…from the heart is the only art”.

Born in the Netherlands, Herman Rhuland has made Canada his home since 1959. Currently Herman lives on a farm outside of Ottawa. His artistic practice has developed on the reworking and assembling of found objects and seemingly disparate materials.
He paints in oils & acrylics and is a maker of found-objects-assemblages and formal sculptures. He is listed in the National Gallery of Canada and is a member of North Gower Artists Society. Herman has exhibited at Orange Gallery, The Cube, La Petit Mort Gallery and several others.

NATIVE STONE ART

In 1968 my parents opened Skin and Bones. Very quickly into our history we began carrying Indigenous Art and Crafts. In the early 70's we introduced Navajo, Zuni and Hopi Jewelry to Toronto. Over the years the percentage of indigenous work expanded as well as our interactions with artists. In 1993 for my parents version of retirement the name was changed to Native Stone Art. The main focus being indigenous art. We were privileged to form personal friendships with many of the artists both locally and in the north. Since the late 90's my husband and I have been doing shows, mostly in the Ottawa area. In 2007 we closed the brick and mortar location in Toronto, increasing the focus on shows in the Ottawa and Eastern Ontario areas. Since 2003, we have expanded to include fun antique and vintage finds. It has always been our goal to provide quality representation of the Indigenous art available and to support the indigenous communities we interact with.
